Riding & Driving Holidays – stay in a real Log Cabin!

Come and stay in a real log cabin situated in our idyllic woodland area where you are welcome to bring the whole family, even the four-legged ones! Just minutes from Easter Hall Park Riding School, the self-catering accommodation is perfectly positioned to allow you and your horse to take advantage of our full range of equine services and facilities including livery, as well as access to the Tarka Trail for some of the most picturesque off-road hacking in Devon. Our large outdoor schooling area has an all-weather surface for flat-work & jumping and we also have a smaller indoor area. If you would like to bring your own  horse and take advantage of our livery facility, please let us know at the time of booking.

No Horse? No Problem!

Easter Hall Park is situated on the outskirts of the charming village of Petrockstowe set in 100 acres of farmland in the beautiful Devonshire countryside. We are centrally located near the A386, within easy reach of Dartmoor and Exmoor, only 30 minutes drive from some of Devon’s best beaches, such as Bude and Westward Ho, making us an ideal base for your holiday in Devon. The Tarka Trail is close by and provides super facilities for walking, cycling and riding.

Log Cabin Holiday Home

Our self-catering holiday accommodation is situated in an authentic log cabin built by Canada Wood Log Cabins made from our own trees from our woodland.

Many of the attractive features you might expect from an authentic log cabin like exposed log walls make it a warm and inviting space to stay in. There is a fully fitted kitchen, lounge area, shower room and 2 bedrooms.  A TV is provided and all linen, heating and electricity is provided within the price.

We operate a small riding school at Easter Hall Park, so we can offer riding and driving tuition and courses during your stay. A minimum of 24 hours notice will be required for bookings (weight Limit of 14 stone).

Pets and Horses welcome!

Training for British Horse Society (BHS) exams and NVQ diplomas are available or hacking for the experienced rider over our farm or on the nearby Tarka Trail, Devon Wildlife Trust Areas and woodland.

Local Information

Hatherleigh

Hatherleigh is a place apart – an ancient Market Town of cob and thatch cottages situated in heart of rural Devon, near to Petrockstow.

Ruby Run Half Marathon. 2nd Sunday in June. Held between Hatherleigh and Holsworthy.

Hatherleigh Arts Festival. Mid July. Four days of contemporary arts, including theatre, concerts and art exhibitions, street theatre and workshops.

Hatherleigh Carnival. 2nd Saturday in November. The flaming tar barrels are pulled through the streets at 5am and 8:30pm and there are events and parties throughout the day.

Great Torrington

Great Torrington is a friendly, welcoming town, set in the midst of rolling, unspoilt green countryside. An ancient settlement extraordinarily sited on an inland cliff top with steep drops down to the River Torridge below. This impressive situation offers spectacular views. In the very heart of Tarka Country, the wonderful landscape has remained practically unchanged since Henry Williamson wrote his classic novel “Tarka the Otter” in the 1920’s.

Visit Okehampton Castle that dates back to Norman times and enjoy both the history and outstanding views that the castle affords. For the more adventurous, try a walk on Dartmoor, guided walks are available and help you appreciate the Moor.
