Easter Hall Park is situated on the outskirts of the charming village of Petrockstow set in 100 acres of farmland in the beautiful Devon countryside. We are centrally located near the A386, within easy reach of Dartmoor and Exmoor, only 30 minutes drive from some of Devon’s best beaches, such as Bude and Westward Ho, making us an ideal base for your holiday in Devon. The Tarka Trail is close by and provides super facilities for walking, cycling and riding.

Our self-catering holiday accommodation is situated in a sympathetically converted, 300 year old barn adjoining the farmhouse. The cottage comprises of two bedrooms, one twin and one double with an open plan living, dinning and kitchen area downstairs. If required, a spare bed or cot can be provided on request.

Many of the attractive features you might expect from holiday cottage in Devon are inside including oak beams, slate floors and original cob walls. There is a fully fitted kitchen with microwave, etc. A TV is provided and all linen, heating and electricity is provided within the price.

The cottage overlooks our indoor riding school and farmyard and outside is safe for children and mud free. There is also plenty of space to park your car.

We operate a small riding school at Easter Hall Park, so we can offer riding and driving tuition and courses during your stay. A minimum of 24 hours notice will be required for bookings (weight Limit of 14 stone).

Equestrian Riding and Carriage Driving Holidays


We have a full range of equine services and facilities at Easter Hall Park including livery, so we can provide self-catering accommodation for you and equine B&B for your horse so that you can enjoy a holiday together. Our large outdoor schooling area has an all weather surface for flat-work and jumping and we also have a smaller indoor area.

We can offer riding and driving tuition and courses during your stay, please inquire when booking. Training for British Horse Society (BHS) exams and NVQ diplomas are available or hacking for the experienced rider over our farm or on the nearby Tarka Trail, Devon Wildlife Trust Areas and Woodland.

Hatherleigh is a place apart – an ancient Market Town of cob and thatch cottages situated in heart of rural Devon, near to Petrockstow.

Ruby Run Half Marathon. 2nd Sunday in June. Held between Hatherleigh and Holsworthy.

Hatherleigh Arts Festival. Mid July. Four days of contemporary arts, including theatre, concerts and art exhibitions, street theatre and workshops.

Hatherleigh Carnival. 2nd Saturday in November. The flaming tar barrels are pulled through the streets at 5am and 8:30pm and there are events and parties throughout the day.

Great Torrington

Great Torrington is a friendly, welcoming town, set in the midst of rolling, unspoilt green countryside. An ancient settlement extraordinarily sited on an inland cliff top with steep drops down to the River Torridge below. This impressive situation offers spectacular views. In the very heart of Tarka Country, the wonderful landscape has remained practically unchanged since Henry Williamson wrote his classic novel “Tarka the Otter” in the 1920’s.
